Update

So Quarter One of my senior year is done. I am relieved. Senior year along with all of the other responsibilities that I have are proving to be no joke. I am sorry that I do not post often but it is because there are just not enough hours in a day. I will try and pick up on my posting now that one major milestone is over with- COLLEGE APPLICATIONS. As of tonight I will officially be done applying to the 11 schools of my choice. I even got an acceptance letter to Drexel University already! Hope Alexandria Wiseman is college bound!

Last weekend I had 3 appearances! I was a guest speaker at the National Walk and Festival for World Peace along with Miss Maryland Globe. It was sponsored by Sister Cities. Visit http://www.sister-cities.org/ for more info. I will attach pictures at the end of this post.
Later on that night I was a guest at the reception for the National Womans Youth Conference. It was a great event for girls ages 14-17 to discuss common issues that they all face. I really enjoyed talking to all of the girls. It was a very inspiring event. Lastly on Sunday I went to a fundraiser for the Miss DC organization at the Embassy of Uzbekastan. Miss America was in attendance. She and Miss DC, Jen Corey, sang, and I got to meet many of the most important people of DC. It was amazing!

This is at the embassy. I pictured here with Miss DC 06- Kate Michael and Morgan Ortagus.

More photo's coming soon!

Until next time,

Hopeeee!

so it's been a while.

Okay everyone. I know its been like a month since I have posted. I am so sorry...School is crazy right now. I had no idea that senior year would be this crazy. On top of just school I'm applying to college (a billion of them at that), I'm trying out for co-captain of my dance team, and I'm still Miss Teen DC. This is going to be a crazy year. I have had a few break downs but I will be okay and I will get through this. I just need to really get organized. My advice for any up and coming high school seniors...START COLLEGE APPLICATIONS DURING THE SUMMER. That will be one less load you have to worry about when school actually starts.

But I never told you about MAOT. So here it goes...

Basically it was amazing. I do not know how to sum it all up but I had an amazing time. I met some friends (Georgia (OK), Kristen (MA), Bri (GA)) that are going to be bridesmaids in my wedding. I love those girls! Enjoy all the pictures below. Oh, btw...I won non finalist evening gown and non finalist interview =].
This is opening number! I am on the front row in the green dress.
This is lifestyle in fitness.
This is visitation after the first night of prelims. That is Jasmine Alexis (Miss Teen DC 08), Me, Teri Galvez (Executive Director), and Jen Corey (Miss DC 09).
This is the ending to my talent to "Bring me Flowers" Ignore the crazy look on my face. lol

This is my mother and I at visitation after the second night of prelims.
"Bo, Sasha, and Malia now call this city home. From your nations capital, I am Miss District of Columbia's Outstanding Teen, Hope Wiseman." My intro.During the evening gown comp.

That is me with the newly crowned MAOT! She was my partner for Mama Mia! (again ignore the crazy look on my face. lol)& finally that's me with another good friend (Taylor Fitch MAOT 09). This is when I won my non finalist evening gown and interview awards!

So thats just about it for this post....I will catch you guys later!

Excited for what is to come....

Hey everyone! I leave in just about a week for Orlando. I am very nervous but even more excited for all that I am about to encounter. I posted this note on my facebook and I am now bringing it here to my blog. Please read and enjoy!!

I want to thank everyone who came to the DC pageant to support me! Thank you so much. I had the loudest cheering section at the Lincoln Theater. You guys are amazing! I know that because it is so far and such a last minute thing, not many of people will be able to make it down to Orlando to see me. I do understand and all the "good lucks" and "best wishes" are just as thoughtful! Thank you for that. A few people have supported with sponsorship and I want to thank them too.

If you want to send me anything while I am in Florida please send it to this address:
Miss District of Columbia's Outstanding Teen
Hope Wiseman; C/O Rosen Centre Hotel
9840 International Drive
Orlando, FL 32819-8122
& here are some rules about sending me stuff:
  • It is strongly suggested that all gifts, letters, and cards arrive at the hotel prior to Thursday, August 13th, 2009. After this date, we cannot guarantee their delivery.

  • Due to pageant scheduling and activities it may take up to 24 hours for delivery or pickup of gifts, letters, and cards to get to the contestants.

  • Gifts, letters, and cards will NOT be accepted at the convention center or theatre at anytime.

  • All gifts, letters, and cards will be screened by security prior to pickup or delivery to the contestant.

  • Per the guidelines set up by the MAO and MAOT due to allergies, for security purposes, and lack of space in the hotel room's flowers will NOT be allowed, however gifts, baskets, and other small items will be appreciated.
Also, if you want to help me in a different way please consider donating to Children's Miracle Network. CMN is the official platform to Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding Teen. My goal is to raise $500 by August 1. I have already raised about $325. $10, $5, or even $1 would help. Click on the following link to donate: Donate to CMN

Thank you all again for all of the support. It does not go unnoticed. =]

Prep for Nationals

Hey everyone!

So I have been super busy ever since I won my title last Sunday. This is crazy! I have just under three weeks to prepare for the national competition. I am literally eating a breathing PREPARATION! I wake up every morning and workout with my wonderful fitness trainer, John Morris of Profit on I st. He is amazing and even though it has not been that long I am already seeing a difference. I was working out before but John has put a new spin on things and I'm really seeing the benefits. He has me on this diet. I love it. It's called the Sacred Heart Diet. I'll have to share it with you all one of these days. Besides all that I am staying very up to date with current events, practicing public speaking whenever I can, going through tough mock interviews, and many other things to prepare me for the interview and on stage question portions of the pageant. I am working with my gown sponsors, La Casa Hermosa, to find a new gown to wear on stage. I am also working with my talent costume sponsors, Designs to Shine, to find the perfect little number for my dance to "Bring Me Flowers". Speaking of talent, I am working very hard on perfecting my routine. I won talent at the state pageant but that does not mean I can slack off. I have to keep working. Whew.....I know I know...it's a lot.

I am really excited! I cannot wait to show the judges what the District of Columbia is made of!

Well until the next time guys. XoXo,

Hope!

My First Appearance...

So I had my very first appearance as Miss Teen DC yesterday. It was very refreshing. It was a fund raiser for the JewelGirls of Fair Fund. I was invited by the former Miss Teen DC 2008, Jasmine Alexis. I got to meet the lovely ladies that made my beautiful jewelry that I received as a part of my prize package. Of course I wore it to the event. One of the girls, Deja, had on this beautiful skirt. I asked her where she got it from and she told me that she made it herself. She said she was bored one day and she just got out a needle and thread and went to work! Those girls are all so talented. I will put up pictures as soon as I load them up on the computer. So much to do! Nationals is in three weeks so I am trying to get everything together on time. If I do not get to post much until after then I am very sorry. Know that I am working very hard on preparing to represent the District of Columbia the best I possibly can at nationals. I won't let you down!
